SM Break: Day One

After deleting Facebook, Twitter and Instagram from my phone yesterday there was some big “Ok, what now” energy. I made a list of things to do whenever I’m feeling bored and I’m going to get a die so I can roll that if nothing looks appealing. If I go that route then I have to do whatever it is the die lands on. No substitutions. If I feel drawn to some particular then I need to do that.

I know writing is a skill and something that will get better over time but I had several things I wanted to cover in this post and as soon as I started typing they disappeared from my brain. That’s happened quite a few times over the last several days as I’ve been gearing up for this social media break. I’m brainstorming ways that I can get my ideas out whenever I think about them. So far I’ve used the notes app on my phone. But that becomes a problem when I’m exercising or have gloves on or I’m driving. Maybe I should just go “old school” and carry a small notebook and pen with me wherever I go and then move those notes over to the digital side as part of a routine. That sounds pretty appealing and the gods know I have enough notebooks lying around my house.

These posts will get better as I do more. I know they will. Everything is a skill that must be practiced in order to be made better.
