For the second year in a row I went to Overland Expo East and for the second year in a row I had an absolute blast! I’m not a social person and typically when I go camping I intentionally go to places where I’m less likely to encounter people. I think that’s a lot of people’s goal when camping.
There’s something different about Expo though. I really enjoy getting lost in the crowds, wandering to different vendors, going to different classes and talks, and meeting creative YouTubers that I admire. This year was no different. The classes were amazing and super relevant to my situation and style of camping and while it felt like there were less vendors this year I still had no trouble spending money!
This year I got to meet a few of my favorite YouTubers and hear their thoughts on overlanding full time and being a full time creator which was really interesting! It makes me even more confident to keep my own YouTube channel going to scratch the creative itch that I’ve had for years but have been too self conscious to do anything about.
Every camping trip I go on I come back with the post trip blues. I don’t know if it’s the reality of coming back to the “real world” or something else but I know it’s not a feeling I like but it is a feeling I’m grateful for because it means that the trip had an impact on me. I always leave Expo so creatively inspired and this year I vow to capitalize on that feeling and see where it takes me!
Here are some pics I took over the weekend.
