Poetry

I’ve written about my love for a good quote and over the years that love has turned towards poetry. First, just reading or listening to it as it popped up in my day to day and now to seeking it out.

I’ve found so many wonderful poets whose words have inspired me, made me smile, made me laugh, made me cry and even made angry! Words carry so much power and harnessing that power, even for a moment, is what I want to do.

I’m not saying I’m a great poet and I’m not saying I’m a bad poet but I am calling myself a poet because the words in my head cry out to be freed. Words are the power and I am the vessel. I will be the one to free those words and unleash them upon the world!

Ok, maybe that was a bit dramatic but those are the words that let themselves out while typing this!

I’ve found this new journey to be so rewarding, more so than anything I’ve done in a long time. I love finding the perfect moment and capturing that on film or memory card but finding the perfect word, the perfect phrase and then loosing it into the existence then feeling it land within me has been an experience like no other!

I started this post with the intention of listing a few of my favorite poets but what you read above is what came out. I will save my favorite poets post for another time, they definitely deserve their own post.
