The Power of Words

I’ve written about getting seriously into poetry earlier this year and it all started with a book by Iain S. Thomas called Everything You Cannot Say.

I randomly picked up this book at a new local bookstore called Blackbird Coffee and Books and before I knew it I was over halfway through it and had to buy it! I also picked up another book by him on the same trip and have since bought everything I could find by him along with several other poets.

Over the last few years I’ve really even rediscovered/discovering things that make me feel, whether that be good, sad, mad whatever and fully embraced those feelings. Some have hit me harder than others but one thing about reading poetry is that it made me want to write it as well!!

I’ve written about happiness, love, sadness and most recently depression. It’s a part of my life now and will be forever, I’ve also discovered some unbelievably amazing poets and writers through the WordPress community and I love that feeling of excitement when I see a new post in my email from a blog I’m subscribed to.

This is such a heartfelt journey, love how one book sparked a whole new creative path for you. Poetry really does have a way of unlocking emotions we didn’t know needed a voice. Keep writing and feeling it all. Poetry save my life!
